Using the system

This section describes how to use the system.

Intended use​

The incomplete machine is intended solely for handling objects and automating production processes.

During automatic operation, the operating personnel are located outside the robot's range of motion. The partially completed machine may be operated by only one machine operator at a time.

The partly completed machinery may not be put into service until it has been determined that the machine or system into which the partly completed machinery has been installed and integrated complies with the provisions of the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC).

It is essential for the intended use of this product that machine operators read, understand and follow these instructions. Proper use includes observing and following all instructions in these assembly instructions. The partly completed machinery must be inspected and maintained regularly in accordance with the maintenance and inspection intervals specified in the maintenance manual and the procedures described therein. The partly completed machinery may not be operated in areas with explosive atmospheres.

The partly completed machinery is intended exclusively for industrial and commercial use.

Any use beyond this is considered improper.

Improper use​

Any use other than handling objects is prohibited. Improper use can pose a hazard.

  • An example of improper use is when unauthorized modifications are made to safety-critical components.
  • Improper use also occurs, for example, when the specified operating parameters (e.g., payload) are not adhered to.
  • It is improper use to install or operate the machine in areas where explosive atmospheres may occur (Ex zones).

Predictable misuses​

The following misuse is foreseeable:

  • Handling of objects whose specifications do not comply with the requirements for this partly completed machinery.
  • Remaining within the operating range of the robot during automatic operation.
  • Operation of the partly completed machinery by unqualified personnel.
