Control unit
The control unit is used to control the robot system and its peripherals and to supply them with power. The control unit contains all components for robotics control, safety control, communication, power distribution and interfaces to peripheral devices.
The control unit handles the path and function control of the robot, i.e., calculation of axis movements, program sequence control and synchronization with external processes (e.g., sensors, tools). At the same time, the control unit ensures the electrical power supply to the drives and auxiliary equipment and includes the necessary safety and protective devices, such as an emergency stop interlock, safety relays and surge protection.
The control unit is operated by mean of an external control PC or control tablet. The control PC/tablet is connected to the control unit through an RJ45 Ethernet port.
