Operating states during maintenance work

The operating states of the entire system during maintenance and repair work depend on the work and inspections to be performed.

Maintenance and repair work is primarily performed while the entire system is shut down. To do so, a safe operating state must be established for the entire system.

Some tests require the robot arm to move and can therefore only be performed when the entire system is turned on.

Establishing a safe operating state using lockout/tagout (LOTO)

A safe operating state must be established by performing a lockout/tagout procedure. Here, all power sources (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.) must be shut off and secured to prevent them from being turned back on.

The measures to be implemented depend on the scope of the system components and the configuration of the entire system. It is the integrator's responsibility to determine the measures to be implemented as part of the risk assessment and to describe them in the operating instructions for the entire system.

Establishing the operating state required to perform axis movements

To perform axis movements during maintenance and servicing, the entire system must be switched to manual mode (see Switching between operating modes). Axis movements can then be triggered using the enabling unit (see Enabling unit) via RobCo Studio.
