Initial startup
Before turning on the system, carefully read and follow the instructions in Safety of these instructions.
Make sure that all mechanical and electrical work has been completed and that no one is in the danger zone.
The safety devices are installed and ready for operation.
Turning on the system

- Illuminated ON/OFF switch
- "Safety Reset" button
- ► Check all system components for external damage.
- ⇨ If you notice any damage, repair it or have it repaired. NOTICE! The system may not be turned on if the protective cover is damaged.
- ► Check the supply voltage. It must match the information in Technical data.
- ► Unlock all emergency stop buttons.
- ► Turn the light selector switch on the control unit to the ON position.
- ⇨ The LED on the illuminated selector switch is green.
- ⇨ The LED on the control unit for robot communication will light up green after 1–2 minutes, once communication has been established.
- ► Check to make sure that all components (grippers, peripheral devices) are turned on and operational.
- ⇒ The system is turned on.
Switching on manual mode
Viewing the robot's full range of motion in manual mode
In manual mode, the axes of the robot are moved. Collisions between people and the robot can result in serious injuries.
► In manual mode, the range of motion of the robot must be fully visible.
► Before initiating the movements, the operator must ensure that no one is in the danger zone.
► Depending on the situation, the danger zone must be cordoned off with a red-and-white chain during setup.
- ✓ The robot system is fully assembled, ready for operation and powered on.
- ✓ The enabling unit is connected to the control unit.
- ✓ The system is turned on.
- ► Set the key switch on the control unit or the external key switch to the Manual position.
- ⇨ The status indicators on the drive modules light up yellow/red.
- ► Press and hold the feed control button on the feed unit in the middle position.
- ⇨ The Safety Reset button on the control unit is flashing white.
- ► Press the Safety Reset button on the control unit.
- ⇨ The status indicators on the drive modules light up blue.
- ⇒ Manual mode is enabled.
Creating a robot program
Robot programs are created and managed using RobCo Studio.
When RobCo Studio is used in conjunction with the enabled enabling unit, the robot operates in manual mode. In this process, the robot navigates to waypoints at a reduced speed and saves them in a robot program. Alternatively, the robot can be moved manually in hand-guided control (HGC) to record waypoints.

Performing a test run
Before starting a robot program in automatic mode, perform a test run.
- ► Turn on automatic mode (see Switching between operating modes).
- ► Launch the robot program using RobCo Studio.
- ► Monitor the execution of the batch program.
- ► Stop the robot program immediately if there is a risk of collision or damage.
- ⇒ The initial startup is complete.
