RobSafety

Welcome to the RobSafety knowledge base.

RobSafety lets you configure the Robot's Safety Functions and decide under which circumstances each one is activated or deactivated. Safety behavior is driven by the physical state of the Safe Inputs on the Control Unit, so the Robot can react to its surroundings — slowing down, restricting its Workspace, or stopping — without changing the Flow that is running.

Beta feature

RobSafety is a beta feature and is only available when the Robot's update channel is set to Beta.

How RobSafety is organized

The RobSafety UI is split into three parts:

  • Activation Rules — describe a state the Robot is in, expressed through the Safe Inputs on the Control Unit.
  • Safety Functions — the behaviors the Robot should follow, such as a Cartesian speed limit or a Safe Space it must stay inside or outside of.
  • Mappings — link Safety Functions to Activation Rules, so a function becomes active whenever its rule does.
