Configuring RobSafety

With RobSafety you can configure various Safety Functions and decide under which circumstances they should be activated or deactivated. The UI is split into three parts: Activation Rules, Safety Functions, and Mappings.

Activation Rules

With Activation Rules you can define a certain state the Robot is in. The state is configured via the Safe Inputs on top of the Control Unit.

For each Safe Input you can decide whether you:

  • want to ignore it (leave the checkbox unchecked);
  • want it to be enabled (check the checkbox);
  • want it to be disabled (check the checkbox and the inverted checkbox right after).

Once the configured Safe Inputs exactly match the physical state of the Safe Inputs on the Control Unit, the Activation Rule is activated.

Safety Functions

With Safety Functions you can configure different behaviors of the Robot — for example a Cartesian speed limit, or a Safe Space that the Robot must stay inside or outside of.

Mappings

With Mappings you link Safety Functions to Activation Rules. Once an Activation Rule becomes active (because the physical state of the Safe Inputs on the Control Unit matches), the linked Safety Functions become active too.
