Kiosk mode
Kiosk mode hides RobFlow's app bar so a Dashboard fills the whole screen. It is what you want on a panel PC or a shop-floor terminal: the operator sees the Dashboard and nothing else — no view selector, no Flow Editor, no way to wander into the Robot's configuration by accident.
Entering kiosk mode
With a Dashboard open, press the Kiosk mode button in the app bar. The app bar disappears and the Dashboard takes the full viewport.
Kiosk mode is part of the Dashboard's address, so it survives a reload. Set an unattended terminal's browser to open a Dashboard in kiosk mode once, and the cell comes back up that way after a reboot with no operator action.
Leaving kiosk mode
A close button sits in the top-right corner of the screen. Pressing it brings the app bar back.
If the Dashboard was configured with Prevent kiosk breakout, that button is not shown and the Dashboard stays full-screen. See Dashboard settings.
A Generic Button with the Change Dashboard action preserves kiosk mode when it navigates, so a multi-screen operator panel stays full-screen as the operator moves between its Dashboards.
Not a security boundary
Kiosk mode is a usability boundary. It removes the navigation an operator would use, but it does not stop anyone who edits the URL.
To actually restrict access, combine it with protection:
- Mark Dashboards that command the Robot as protected, so opening them requires a RobFlow login.
- Set a RobFlow password under Network and access, so the Flow Editor and the Robot's configuration are not reachable without it.
Enable Prevent kiosk breakout only after the Dashboard is finished and tested on the target device. With no button back to the app bar, the practical way to change the Dashboard again is from another device, or by opening a different URL by hand.
